Indeed, the appeal of this item gets from the straightforwardness and effortlessness of its structure, through a signal that acquires a convincing wonderful flair. By method of difference, the delicate glow transmitting from within stresses the two adjusted edges that, with their folds, loosen up to meet each other at the centre. When the lamp is turned off, the useful angle is completely subordinate to the carefully sculptural part of the bended sheet. In this manner the design splendidly settle what for some lighting gadgets, when turned off, is just an unknown if not unwieldy presence. Regarding the starting points of this task, Sergio Gandini reviews the unrehearsed manner by which they reacted to the solicitation for a wall lamp by cutting and collapsing a basic piece of cardboard before one of his holding up group members.’ Taken from: Denti, M., Afra and Tobia Scarpa. Graduation proposition in engineering, University of Florence, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Building Production Processes and Methods, scholastic year 1994/95.
